Okay Nathan - we have an actual request from a reader this time.
"A" hurt his back a year ago working construction - he spent most of the year unable to excercise and his rehab was pretty long. His back is fine now - but he has put on an extra 30kgs. Here is his question.....
"Everything feels different when I exercise now. Its harder to pick things up and its like nothing works as it used to. I'm not used to being fat - using weights is really hard and my joints hurt when I exercise. What should I do?"
Hey "A"
Interesting question!
Now my suggestion would be to start easy, progress with an easy to moderate intensity cardiovascular program i.e. using to x-trainer or elliptical at a heart rate monitored intensity,(I recommend aerobic zone training 70-80% hr max) for a low impact way to increase fitness.
Ease your way back into weight training! You will not be able to do what you used to at this stage. Maybe start with body weight exercises such as squats, lunges, press ups, crunches etc. Hope these suggestions help.
