..........Erykah Badu - because comparing yourself to JFK is something that a singer would do......... moron.......... .
I like the "Window Seat" video. She is not "comparing" herself to the president. She's playing with the metaphor of assassination at the end of the video to get at the idea of vulnerability that goes along with self-expression, as she walks down the streets of Dallas, which is her hometown. It's a very beautiful and well-made video.
One of the great things about art is it's subjectivity. One persons art is anothers trash. I personally do not believe she excercised proper judgment. Especially if you turn it upside down and a white singer used Martin Luther Kings assassination as a metaphor - could you imagine the shit that would go down from that? For me it was disprectful. But thats my subjectivity.
