I'm so sorry Damien ... what an awful year you've had. Just came out of one of those myself but things are better than ever at the moment, for the time being.
I know you'll come out better off too ... I hope it happens soon.
Just don't accept any "gigs" from a certain guy I worked for in the Catskills last year. ;o)
They say things come in threes, so you've had your three.
The world will get better, just don't take it to heart.
And just think, no need to go to work, so more time to look at sexy young men all over the internet!!

Best advice I can give is to network, network, network.
Where I live there are two groups, Providence Geeks and DC401. I actually like the latter better than the former and that's the group through which I got the job I currently hold because I got to know someone in the group.
In fact when I think about it, last two jobs I've had were due to knowing someone on the inside.
