...... Day 2 and 3.....Sydney Odyssey..........

......So..... after another sleep in - I could get used to that........ Day 2 started with a leisurely train trip into the city and off to the Museum I went.....Once off the train I strolled to the Museum through the beautiful Hyde Park past the War Memorial, statue of Australia's "Founder" Captain Cook, and the many, many lovely trees....

.......Unfortunately, almost HALF of the Museum was being renovated and/or preparing for new exhibits, but thankfully the really cool stuff was still on display.....The Museum itself is one of those fantastically monolithic buildings that are like a man-made mountain...

First........ SKELETONS !!!!!!!........

"Captain!! - There be WHALES here!!" (guess the movie quote)

Second........ DINOS!!!!!! (And a mummy)...........

Then......On the way into the Indigenous gallery, there were five portraits of modern day Indigenous Australians aka Aboriginals (although it is considered inappropriate to use that word now - I don't know why but it is)....

Anyway - this portrait below captured my attention - actually, it demanded my attention. The intensity of the eyes literally grabbed me by the throat and held me in place forcing me to look at him and to digest the emotions that this young man was sending to me. I'm not going to write here what I felt. Click on the pic and look at the big version and let him speak to you......

After that I schlepped back to my friends place and had a quick chat before again hoofing it out into Newtown - the very centre of bohemia and eclectism in Sydney - for a wonderful meal / catch up/ drinks / laughs / snorts 'n' giggles with the ever delightful Brenton from Aussielicious.. After regretfully parting, I hopped into a cab, schlepped home, chatted with my lovely hosts for an hour or so and then dragged my tired arse into bed....

...on the UPSIDE ***lots*** of walking...... has to be good for me....

Day 3........

Today is not that exciting. Headed down to the local Westfield mall for a lovely breakfast, manicure, then came back and am relaxing before heading out to the Oxford Hotel where the very nice Richard aka The Naked Barber will be doing buzz cuts and sharing a drink with me.

Tomorrow - the Day of Gorgeousness with The Twink..... details to come..... :)

Shalom my dears.
