Like all countries, there are vastly different parts of Brazil that are unique and quite amazingly beautiful. Rio, of course, with its beaches and sun, has a wonderful gay community with TONS of eye-candy.
I also spent 3 weeks boating up the Amazon, from Belem (city on Atlantic entry to the river basin) transversing Brazil, short passage (few miles) Columbia, to Iquitos, Peru. Was on a nature cruise with twice daily rafting on the Amazon. Brazil's central rain forestry is truly remarkable; the chile pepper markets in Columbia unbelievable. Manaus is also quite a beautiful city geographic center of Brazil.
Hope u can make it there as it is truly one of the most beautiful areas of our planet.
