Yes I agree - Ricky's coming out WAS heartfelt and indeed touching.
Yes I agree - If I had have been him 5 or 10 years ago who knows what one in the same situation would have decided.
Yes - anyone in the public eye coming out is big deal.
NO - it should NOT have to be a big deal - we should not have to COME OUT at all.
We should just BE who we are and not have it be a g-ddamn Press Release.....
Famous people have private lives - and be it hetero or homo - it shouldn't mean diddly - but here in the 21st Century - America still gasps when a famous person comes out.
It is a sad indictment of the reach of the extreme Right in America that this is still a big deal.
