Misty Copeland ..... I Will What I Want ....

This is powerful stuff.

And I am a HUGE fan of Misty Copeland.

A beautiful dancer.  Impressive athlete.  Not a stereotype.

AN INSPIRING new video featuring dynamic dancer Misty Copeland will change your view on ballet forever.
The new commercial from Under Armour features the 31-year-old Copeland in an intense solo routine, focusing in on the athleticism behind the elegance.
The viral video features a rejection letter a 13-year-old girl received, saying she had not been accepted into a ballet academy because of her body shape.
Coincidentally, Copeland was discovered at age 13.
Copeland was so poor at the time that she’d never seen a ballet, heard of ballet or knew what a ballerina looked like, the New York Post reported.
She spent part of her teen years living in a single motel room with her mother and five siblings, hungry and afraid and just trying to make the hours-long commute to and from school each day.
“I had no introduction to the arts in any way — definitely not the fine arts,” she said.
“Survival was our No. 1 priority, not extracurriculars, or a career. These were not things we thought about.”
Today, Copeland is the first black female in two decades to be a soloist at the American Ballet Theatre.

I've always thought that ballet was grossly under rated for the sheer raw power and body control it requires. Thank you for posting this.
