I Am a New Jew

I am a New Jew.
Jew by Choice.
Convert.

No I have not fully completed my conversion.
I am still to appear before the Beth Din (Rabbinical Court).
Yes I still consider myself Jewish in spite of this and the Orthodoxes who nay-say.

I live a Jewish Life with a Jewish philosophy.
I perform good deeds. Not to be seen as good, but because it is the right thing to do.
Good deeds can big or small. Just do them.

I believe the world can be healed and humanity has the potential to be better and will be better.  So as small as my contribution may be, I try to help the healing a little bit each day.

You may not "see" me do many "Jewish" things. That's because it's about me and not you.  Plus it is not about being seen.  It is about doing.

I have Jewish, Atheist, Christian, Muslim, Spiritualist, and Agnostic friends. Yes we get along.  We simply respect each other as people.

I believe in a Free Palestine.  It is to Israels benefit and the positive future of Palestine.

If you see me in my Kippah/Yarmulke, yes you may ask any question about my faith you would like. No, you may not tell me what is wrong with my faith.   I respect you and your choices, do not disrespect mine please.

My relationship with HaShem is mine and mine alone. Your approval is not required.

I am a person of deep faith.  If you are or are not, neither matters.  What matters to me is if you are a good person.

If I say "Blessings" to you, it is my way of offering best wishes or good thoughts your way.

I hope that answers some of the questions I've been asked.  Feel free to ask more.

Blessings all
Damien 😃

PS No I don't have a Jewish name - yet.
Any constructive suggestions on that one are welcome.

Awesome post, Damien. Most appropriate to say in response: yasher koach (good job)...and of course shavouah tov!
