Racialising / De-Racialising Fictional Characters.....My 2 Cents Worth...

With the Black Johnny Storm issue to the recent casting of a whitey in a native american role here's my 2 cents worth on this whole bucket of BS.....

White Character = White Actor

Black Character = Black Actor

Asian Character = Asian Actor (And make it the appropriate asian - Rather than just a korean subbing as everything)

Latino Character = Latino Actor

Etc
Etc
Etc

OH - and if you subscribe to the whole cult of "Well we remade The Wiz coz we didn't have any stories of our own" then I say bullshit on you.

The stories - the history - the poetry of EVERY culture is there.  People are just being lazy and talentless.

People need to pull their finger out of their arse and come out with some real stuff rather than just going for the controversy factor.

Hollywood really is stoopid these days......

And we let them get away with it.

A character should be played by the actor who can best bring the characteristics and heart of the character to life. There are characters where their cultural or ethnic origins are key to what made them and that should be taken into consideration.

I haven't followed what universe this Johnny Storm is from so I don't think his color matters especially if they are altering how he and Sue are related.
